The very first Scooter’s Coffee location was known as “Scooter’s Java Express.” Don and Linda Eckles named it “Scooter’s” after reviewing a list of options including “Scooter.” The name fit well with our mission to keep customers happy by helping them “scoot in and scoot out” quickly.

New Store to Celebrate with Grand Opening Event on June 24

Independence, IA, June 11, 2021 – Scooter’s Coffee, best known for its amazingly fast drive-thru, specialty coffee, and baked-from-scratch pastries, added a new location at 400 1st Street East, Independence, Iowa. To celebrate, the drive-thru location will be hosting a Grand Opening on Thursday, June 24, where customers can earn 50 bonus Smiles when they pay with the Scooter’s mobile app!

With the app, customers earn 3 “Smiles” for every dollar spent, and once they reach 180 Smiles, they earn a free drink.
